    Muscat basically is the capital as well as the biggest city of Sultanate of Oman. Over the period of years Muscat has seen a sudden growth of infrastructure development.

    The three key regions in Muscat undergoing extreme development are West Muscat, Central Muscat and East Muscat.  Muscat is said to be the most ancient city of Middle East and been famous since the second century AD. The first ever foreigner to land on Muscat was Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama, who landed here on his way to India.

    The total population of Muscat as of the year 2005 is said to be 606,024, having an average population density of 184.57 square kilometres. The census report of 2005 also stated that the total area of this region was 3,500 square kilometres. The current sultan of Oman is Qaboos bin Said al Said.
