    The most capped England footballer is former goalkeeper Peter Shilton, who retired after helping England to a third place finish in the nineteen ninety world cup finals after amassing one hundred and twenty five caps.  

    Shilton's record number of caps, were enough to make him the most capped player in Europe after he took the record from Northern Ireland's Pat Jennings.  

    England world cup winning captain Bobby Moore comes in second after he managed one hundred and eight caps for his country.  

    Another hero of England's sixty six truimph comes in third, Manchester United legend Bobby Charlton managed one hundred and six caps in his England career.

    Billy Wright comes in fourth with one hundred and five caps and these four players are the only four in England's history to manage one hundred caps for the three lions.  

    Ex England captain Bryan Robson comes in fifth with ninety caps.
