That largely depends on your own strengths in both fields, but, in the current and foreseeable job market, having more than one string to your bow will be an additional strength.
If you need something categoric, my OPINION would be to go with .NET,

I have to disagree as most enterprises made a strong case for Java and their IT strategy focuses on Java. So if you are working for enterprises to write business software, use Java.
Only if you are living in a small microsoft bubble and need to make GUI oriented software only for Microsoft platforms, use .NET. For everything else, Java is the better choice.
