Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Matt Dillon is an American actor, born in February 1964 in New York.

He began acting in the late 70s with his first break coming in the film "Over the Edge" which was made in 1979.  Although the film received good reviews, it made little money, but Dillon's performance was well received.

That film led him to be cast in two further films the following year – the teenage sex comedy "Little Darlings" and the more serious drama "My Bodyguard".

These films led Dillon to become a teen idol for much of the 1980s with more successful films to follow including "Tex" in 1982, "Liar's Moon" a few months later.

In 1987, he made a brief appearance in the video of the UK Christmas song "Fairytale of New York", and then in 1989, he won acclaim for his portrayal of a drug addict in "Drugstore Cowboy".

In the 1990s, his films included "Singles", "To Die For" and "Wild Things".

In 2006, he received the Premio Donostia at the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
