    Poland formally known as the Republic of Poland basically is a country based in Central Europe. Poland shares its borders with Germany towards the west, with Czech Republic and Slovakia towards the south, with Ukraine and Belarus towards the east and with Baltic Sea and with Lithuania, Kaliningrad Oblast, and a Russian enclave towards the north.     

    The initial Polish state was formed in the year 966. Poland was transformed into a Kingdom in the year 1025. Poland gained independence in the year 1918 after World War I, but lost it again in World War II.   

    According to the census conducted in the year 2002, the total area of this region was estimated to be 120,728 square miles. The census report of 2002 also stated that the total population of this country was 38,530,080, having average population density of 319.9 per square mile.
