What Does The Word Charm Mean?

Charm is a quality that attracts. It is said to be the power of pleasing or delighting people through their behaviour. It is the act of being alluring or inducing strong personal attractiveness. Beguile, bewitch, captivate, enchant, entrance, fascinate etc are the synonyms of the word charm. It is used as both a noun and a verb. Charm may also indicate an object like an amulet that is worn for good luck and success.

Charm is also a term used in physics, a branch of science. In physics it refers to a class of elementary particles. The particles that fall under the category of charm are divided into two classes i.e. ones with hidden charm and the ones where the charm property is clearly visible. Thus it is a quantum property.
