    Scurry is the name of a county in United States. It is situated in the state of Texas. Texas is located in the southern and western regions of United States.  Snyder is the county seat of Scurry. Snyder is based on the Deep Creek, a minor tributary of the Colorado River. Scurry County has a total land area of 2,350 km² according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The Kent County, Fischer County, Mitchell County, Borden County and Garza County are the counties in the neighbourhood of Scurry County. It had a population of 16,361 residents as per the 2000 census.

    This place was named after William R. Scurry, a Confederate general. It is covered by blue stems, gramas, wild rye, and wheat grasses, as part of its vegetation. It is also home for several ranches and farms. The county is one of the leading oil-producing regions in Texas, because the Permian Basin, one of the state's largest petroleum deposits is located in the Scurry County.
