Getulio Dorneles Vargas was the president of Brazil in the middle of 1900s. He was elected as the president first time in the year of 1930 and stayed in that position till 1945. Vargas re elected as the president in the year of 1951 and stayed till 1954 before his death.
Getulio Vargas was born on 19th of April in the year of 1883 in Sao Borja on Brazil. He was nominated as the governor of the Rio Grande do Soul in the year of 1928 and became the president in the year of 1930. As a president of the country he eliminated the constitutional government in the year of 1937. Then he set up the totalitarian new state. Under that act the autonomous states became central authority dependent. Vargas also endorsed labour reforms and social-security laws. He also enacted general education reforms as well as enfranchised women. He took a new act of secret ballot. Vargas was deposed from the post of president in the year of 1945.
Vargas was re elected as the president in the year of 1951 but failed to hold his support. He faced with forced retirement and committed suicide on 24th August in the year of 1954.
