Uropathy is defined as a branch within the field of alternative medicine which deals with urine therapy. A person who practices uropathy is known as a uropath. The premise on which uropathy is based is that the diseases of the human body manifest themselves in the urine. The urine is extracted from the blood. The blood, in turn, is in contact with all the organs in the human body. The toxins and waste products are removed by all organisms through urine. By studying urine, uropaths are able to gather important information about the condition of a patient.

Uropaths examine urine by examining the urine samples under a microscopes and conducting a number of tests, such as the pH test and the measurements of concentration. Uropaths do not conduct these tests in the traditional medical schools and they extensively use herbs, acupressure, manipulative techniques and special diets to treat the patients.
