Can You Give Similarities Between Exposition, connotation, and Denotation?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are no practical similarities between the terms exposition, connotation and denotation. Each is a different literary linguistic method or category for different functions and natures projected by different words. In fact, connotation and denotation are somewhat of antonyms and an exposition or an expository essay is an attempt to critically analyze a situation or presenting a discourse in a strictly academic fashion. A connotation is an implied meaning of words which is taken qualitatively and has a subjective nature. Connotations are expressed in the forms of metaphors, allegories and allusions and refer to the meanings attached with objects and abstracts. However, denotations are more specific and take into account the objective nature of ideas and are more literal in their dispensation.
