When Was Hull City AFC Founded?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Hull City Association Football Club was founded in 1904. It's initial application to join the Football League was rejected. However the re-submitted application was accepted when the two existing league divisions expanded by two clubs each, so four extra vacancies were available. Hull City filled one of these spots in 1905.

Although Hull City have never played in the top division of the Football League, they came third in the Second Division in 1910 but missed out on promotion by goal difference. Oldham Athletic achieved this instead.
Hull City have never won the FA cup either, but they were runners-up in 1910.

Hull City play at their home ground of Kingston Communications Stadium, which is better known as the KC Stadium and is based in Kingston Upon Hull. The ground holds just over 25,000 people.

Hull City's nickname is 'the Tigers' . They currently reside in the Championship division and finished in 18th place in the 2005/06 season.
