The worlds first Steam Train Locomotive to run on rails was built in 1803-1804 and made it's first official run on 21st Feb 1804.
The locomotive was built by Richard Trevithick under the supervision of Samual Homfray and aided by the highly skilled engineering craftsmen at the Penydarren Ironworks in MERTHYR TYDFIL,WALES,UK.
The PENYDARREN Locomotive hauled wagons loaded with 10 tons of iron and carrying up to 70 passengers and thereby also making it the worlds first passenger carrying Locomotve.
Type PENYDARREN LOCOMOTIVE into a search box for masses of further information.
