What Do Bear Paws Look Like?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A bear has broad paws which contribute to support the weight of the bear's body while it is standing on its hind legs. This is one of the reasons as to why bears can move on two feet like humans. The paws of a bear would also have non-retractile claws which are very sharp and can easily make marks on the tree barks and trunks. Thus you can understand that a bear is nearby by the marks that it makes on tree trunks.

These big paws also help the bears to procure their food and in other activities. There are several types of bears but most of the species have broad paws which is one of the similarities found among all kinds of bears. There is a theory among scientists that man might be the descendant of bears instead of the apes. One reason that can help in proving this theory is the size of the paws which are quite large like that of the hands of human beings.
