Overhead transparencies sometimes called as foils are much more popular in business presentations. The equipment consists of the transparencies and the projector. The transparencies are usually right-by-ten-inch acetate sheets. Often mounted in a plastic or paper board frame. If you are only going to write on them as you speak you might use continue roll of acetate instead of individual transparencies. To write on the acetate you also need grease pencils or an acetate marker, regular marketing pens would not work fir it. The projectors come in varieties. The common overhead projector uses the acetate sheets. The less common opaque projector is much bigger and projects solid paper such as books, magazines or broachers. Since the opaque projector is bulky use it sparingly.

The main advantage of overheads is their versatility. You can use them informally writing directly onto the acetate sheet as you face your audience. You can use them semi formally, highlighting or adding information on a partially prepared transparency. Or you can prepear more formal transparencies from computer generated type from fry transfer type or from other printed type run through either a special copying machine or a special transparency machine. Overhead transparencies are also easy to use.
