    How Much Soluble Fiber Does A Person Need To Eat Each Day To Lower Cholesterol?

    I have been on a high fiber diet for a while, but need mainly soluble fiber to fight cholesterol. I need to know how many grams I need to eat each day.

    According to National Academy of Sciences' Institute of Medicin: Women Age 50 and younger should take 25 grams and above 50 should take 21 grams of fiber. Men Age 50 and younger should take 38 grams and above 50 should take 30 grams of fiber.
