The weather in Cape town at the moment which is in South Africa at the tip of Africa, between the Indian and Atlantic Oceans, is coming up to Autumn. In fact May and sometimes, even late April, starts the season when the days start getting cooler and the nights shorter.
Cape town enjoys wonderful summers which can start in
September( 1st Sept is the official first day of spring) and go on until May.
The days are dry and hot, and a wonderful strong wind called the cape Doctor blows any smog or dust away, giving clear skies and long sunny days which stretch well into the evening and end at about 10pm in high summer, when the sun finally sets.
This makes for a lot of spare time after work, and sailing in the wonderful bay of Cape Town is a popular activity, along with all other watersports like windsurfing, kitesurfing, waterskiing, boardsurfing, swimming, boating, fishing, snorkelling, shark diving, whale watching ... the list goes on and on.
South Africa also has some of the best beaches in the world and Cape town has quite a few of these. The coast line includes both the Indian Ocean side which is warmer and the Adlantic side where the water is cooler.
There is fabulous weather, and so many things to do under the sun.
