Charles Taze Russell born on February 16th, 1852 better known as Pastor Russell was basically an American evangelist originating form Pittsburg, Pennslvania. He is said to be the person who established what is recognized as the Bible Student movement.
He is also well known for discovering the religious journal Zion's Watch Tower and Herald of Christ's Presence in the year 1879. He is also credited to start the first Bible Societies in America.
In 1881 Zino's Watch Tower Tract Society was started with a basic purpose of spreading tracts, doctrinal thesis and bibles. All the matter was printed by resident printers who had been hired on contract basis; it was later distributed by 'Colporteurs'. The society was authoritatively licensed in the year 1884, and from here on Russell's organisation strengthened.
