Ronald Weasley, or Ron, is Harry's best friend at Hogwarts. As a favorite character of many Harry Potter fans; he is a really good example of Rowling's unthinkable creative qualities and imagination. Ron is tall and gangling with flaming red hair and freckles like his whole family. Weasleys are very poor. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley have seven children; Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred and George (twins), Ron, and the youngest, Ginny.
Bill, the eldest, had been a Head Boy and Prefect at school, Charlie had been the Quidditch Captain of his teem, Percy had also been the Head Boy and Prefect like Bill, and Fred and George get exceptional grades and because of their filled-to-the-brim sense of humor are liked by everyone.
Thus, Ron seems to feel pressurized by his parents' desire for him to follow his brothers, and even if he does, his brothers have already done it before him, so he'll still be second. He is also being pressed on by his younger sister Ginny, who is famous because of her looks and the superb Bat Bogey Hex she performs.
But Ron manages to become a Prefect in his Fifth year, and also become a part of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. He is truly a wonderful character that is always optimistic and funny, and the first to be awarded 100 points because of being the best player of Chess that Hogwarts has had in a hundred years.

Ronald Weasely is the sixth child of the seven Weasley children of Arthur and Molly Weasley. He is Harry Potter's best friend, they met on the Hogwarts Express in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on his first trip to Hogwarts. His siblings are Charlie, Bill, Percy, Fred, George and Ginny.
All his siblings, Percy excluded, had at one point or another been on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. The books skipped the Ginny's final year but all the other Weasley, with the exeption of the twins have been either Head Boy or a Prefect.
If you're looking for physical features, Ron is the redheaded boy who's always with Harry Potter and is played by Rupert Grint.

The only thing which could perhaps be added is that, like all his family, Ron is a pure-blood wizard, with no muggle antecedents in his bloodline. This is comparatively rare in the wizarding world. Probably the only other completely pure blood pupils in their year are Neville Longbottom and Draco Malfoy. Harry is not pure blood and neither was Tom Riddle, who became Lord Voldemort.
