In the recent years the hip hop fashion has become a little formal than before with the introduction of the entire hip hop sports wear especially by famous brands such as Adidas and Tommy. The clothes have emerged to be much tighter, prep-hop inspired style of dressing and designers are focusing more on polo shirts and sweat shirts.

The hip hop clothing line also introduced the belt buckles, skulls and other skeleton decorations. Fitted caps are also in fashion along with tight denim jeans, shorter length t-shirts with short arm sleeves in order to expose the buckle belts.

Baggy style has some what faded away in hip hop fashion and is not that popular like it was in the 1980s. The reason for this is that baggy clothing made heavy people look more fat and huge.

Celebrity rappers, such as Kanye west and Andre 3000 introduced a much tighter style of clothing by wearing hipster style clothing and fitted skaters. However baggy clothes still remain a favorite amongst a lot of youngsters.

Rappers like Lupe and Pharell have introduced the "skate thug" style which is a combination of hip hop style with the skate punk style. This includes skateboarding shoes from Nike and Van very famous amongst skate boarders.
