My cat ran out. When i found him 5 days later he was very sick and had a lot of fleas on him i gave him a bath, but he died in my hand. After he died i found a hole in his leg. White worms were coming out of the hole. What happened to him?

Anything could have happened to him. Maybe someone shot him with a bb, and in that, it got infected, with infection running through him, he could have gotten too sick to get better.
Also, if an animal knows that it's going to pass away, it will hide somewhere so it can do this. I'm sorry about your loss, I really am, no matter what happened, know that he loved you. Hope this helps, good luck.

It is never a good idea to let a cat roam around outside. If you get another cat, please keep it inside. I used to let my cats out until they kept dying young. It's a dangerous world with cars that can hit them, other cats that can start a fight with them and bite them (this is a good possibility of what happened to your cat) or catch feline diseases from cats that havent had there shots. The only time our cats go outside is on their leash

I agree. Cats do not belong outdoors. The duration and quality of their lives is significantly diminished when they are allowed to roam the streets. There are so many dangers: cars, harsh weather, other animals, predators, disease - just to name a few.
I am also very sorry for your loss - but PLEASE - if you decide to get another cat - do him - and yourself - a favor and make this one an indoor cat. =^..^=
