Muhammad is the founder of the Islam religion. He wrote down what his followers believed to be revelations from Allah who is the god of Islam. The interesting part of his writings is they were found written on the skins of dead animals, palm leaves, parchments, paper, mats, stones and even bark. When he could find nothing, on which to write, his followers had to memorize his words. Eventually, many of his writings were found and added to the stories once memorized by his disciples and retold. Eventually, many of those teachings were added to the writings found. The Qur'an became a book of Muhammad's teachings.

Muhammad taught the Christian bible, which preceded the Qur'an by over 500 years should be read by all Muslims for "Guidance and Light." The Jewish Torah preceded the Qur'an by 1000-3000 years.

Today, radical Muslims, believe they are the Majuhideen, that is,(holy warriors) of Allah, based on the teachings of Muhammad found in the Qur'an. The Qur'an teaches the followers of Islam are to take over the entire world and create a world of pure Islam,( A Khalifah). The Qur'an says they are to make war on unbelievers. Muslims who follow islam do not believe God is a God of love, but a God who is a tyrant demanding death, to all who refuse to believe in Islam. Conversion to another faith is punishable by death according to the Qur'an.

The Qur'an is viewed by many to be very much like the Christian and Jewish Scriptures. It is said to be a book of peace and love. In the beginning the Qur'an was based on the Five Pillars: Faith in the Oneness of God and Muhammad the prophet of Islam; Daily prayers are required of followers; Concern for the needy and giving of alms; Fasting to attain self-purification and Pilgrimage to Mecca for all who are able.

Upon the death of Muhammad, his son Ali became the leader of Islam. In time under him a sixth pillar, Jihad, was added to the original five pillars of Islam. Jihad a word with two different meanings: It can mean one striving for a virtuous and moral life, while spreading and defending Islam against oppression and injustice. Jihad can also mean, a struggle for or defence of Islam, which has been interpreted by many to mean expanding Islam to all the world by force and armed conflict.

It is my conclusion, that Islam was meant to be a way to peace, however some have turned it into a way of war and violence.

The Qur'an is the last book of God revealed to the last prophet Muhammad. It was sent to restore the original concept of monotheism which was lost in earlier scriptures. It treats all humans equally. It stongly rejects any concept of incarnation of God into any human form so it is more monotheistic in nature. It recognises all the prophets of Torah(Old Testament)plus Jesus as Beloved prophet Of God
