    Birmimgham is home to many industries that range from confectioneries, automobiles, engineering, infrastructure and also the financial services sector. The major companies that operate out of Birmingham are Llyods TSB Group plc, being the bank with the principal share of the national market, the Midland Bank, Cadbury Schweppes – the confectionary and beverage behemoth, Acme Whistles – the largest producer of whistles in the world, Castle Cement catering to 25% of the UK demand, HP Sauce – selling the most popular brown sauce in UK, IMI plc – the major engineering company offering goods and services, MG Rover – the last of the self contained British car manufactures and Webley & Scott – the renowned arms producer and supplier during the two World Wars.

    Birmingham is also the home to the Birmingham Mint and Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Company.
