Do Pull Ups Keep Kids From Being Potty Trained?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Kids are not going to train themselves.... So it depends on you to train them when wearing the pull ups. Ask them every 15 minutes if they have to go the restroom and tell them that they have to pull their pull up down, when using the toilet and  to pull them back up when done. Praise for a good job. At least it will keep the mess of your carpet or floor if they wear them

Yes pull ups stop kids being potty trained. They keep the child dry and so he is not uncomfortable enough to be trained. I used terry nappies for both my children, and because the wetness was so uncomfortable, especially in the morning (because they were not changed in the night) they were more than ready to be trained.  I realised this when my daughter came up to me when she felt wet and said "new nappy mummy" she and my son were both 2 years old and clean day and night.
