What Is A Bachelor Of Arts Degree?

Bachelor of Arts is an educational degree given for a course in liberal arts. It is a course that continues for three years. This degree is awarded in various countries like South Africa, New Zealand, Switzerland, India, UK, Pakistan etc. they are most common undergraduate degrees apart from BSc. Bachelor Of Arts is abbreviated to BA. It may also be of four or five years duration as in Canada and United States.

It is derived from the Latin word Artium Baccalaureus. This degree can be acquired after students major in certain elective subjects like English, psychology, sociology and so on. The BA degree is a necessity if somebody wants to acquire a Masters Degree or a MA. MA lasts for two years after the completion of BA.
