Lutetia is the Latin for Lutetium and it also means Paris. It has the atomic number 71 and is written as Lu. It was discovered jointly by Georges Urbain a French Scientist and Baron Carl Von Welsbach an Austrian. Lutetium is a rare earth metal which is difficult to isolate. It is commercially available and was isolated only recently.

The chemical element Gallium which has an atomic number of 31 and which is represented by the symbol Ga is also known by its Latin name Gallia. Gallia is Gaul, which is also the ancient name of France. It was named so by its discoverer Lecoq de Boisbaudran who using his wit named it both a rooster and France at the same time by playing with the Latin words Gallus and Gallia.
