A number of top riders were pulled out of the Tour just before it started, leaving the field wide open. With 12 stages completed it is still that way, with the top five riders within two minutes of each other.
The yellow jersey has also changed hands virtually every day, as different riders pile on the pressure as best they can. There are a few tough alpine stages to come, and these could shake up the standings once again.
