Malaria is an infectious disease caused by certain parasites and transmitted by mosquitoes. The illness brings bouts of chills and fever very frequently and it is at times deadly. In those countries having temperate climate, malaria have been eradicated. But in those countries having tropical and subtropical climate, it is still prevalent.
Common symptoms of malaria are shaking chills, high fever, profuse sweating, general bodily unease, headache, nausea and vomiting.
Malaria is caused by a one celled parasite, named plasmodium. Even though there are more than 160 types of plasmodium parasite, only four types cause malaria. The malaria causing plasmodium are P.falciparum commonly found in Africa, P.vivax commonly found in tropical areas of Asia, P.malariae commonly found in Africa and P.ovale found commonly in West Africa.
Malaria can also be caused in other means than through mosquitoes. A pregnant mother can transmit the disease to the unborn baby. It can also be transmitted through blood transfusion.

Malaria is caused via a vector, called female anopheles mosquitoes.these mosquitoes bite an infected person.they suck in the pathogen's gametes together with the blood meal.the pathogen's gamete would develop infective stages inside the mosquitoes's guts and finally down the salivary gland.when the mosquitoes feed again(feed on the person who is not infected) , they inject anti coagulant to prevent clotting of blood meal.the infective stages together with the anti coagulant are injected.parasites enter human's red blood cells, and these are equal to the transmission of malaria.
