    Answers=Kind of, and not really.

    Cancers are the type of diseases that take long time periods to develop. They also tend to occur not just because of environmental exposure (like chemicals), but partly due to genetic susceptibility, intensity and frequency of exposure.

    In other words, it would be very hard to pin down types of cancer to just one particular type of household chemical used in a specific period, and even more so to a range of household chemicals in a given time frame. Especially since many of us might be exposed to the same or even nastier chemicals in other contexts: in our cars, at our work places, at school....

    So the studies haven't been done or haven't been done with definitive results, for the range of all common household chemicals together.

    What we do know is,

    A) Plenty of mild carcinogenic chemicals are in many household products. Probably the majority -- depends what's in your house.

    B) The chemicals are safe enough used in isolation, as directed, in the usual doses. BUT

    C) The combined affect of chronic exposure to all these things is unquantified.

    D) Indoor air pollution is often worse than outdoor air pollution. Not just from air freshioners, smelly stuff you put in your vaccum cleaner, shampoo, dish-washer tablets -- but from upholstery, carpet glue, paint, newly-manufactured plastics (in all types of goods), etc. etc.

    So best to limit exposure, really. Think carefully about what you clean your home with, put on your skin, paint your walls with, etc..
