How Do I Determine The Maker Of A French Horn?
A couple of days ago, a friend of mine gave me a french horn, but I can't determine the maker/brand. I played for almost 10 years. Never had a particularly nice instrument, but the maker was always printed on the bell or near the valves. On this one, I see no markings what so ever. And can't seem to find anything about it online or in blog searches or French Horn sites. Any ideas about how to figure this info out?

If this is pure French horn then it must have some identification or mark of maker that is identity of maker of this horn. It might be a Chinese brand that has no identification. You see properly into the narrow opening of horn and might get some name and identification. The other way you can know about manufacturer is by checking manufacturer's brand and matching it with yours.

Thanks, I got in touch with the dealer, and it's Japanese. So you weren't that far off.
