Where Does Scarborough Football Club Play Their Home Matches?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The McCain Stadium, on Seamer Road in Scarborough, has been the home of the town's football club since 1898. The club currently plays in the Nationwide Conference North, two leagues away from the professional football league. The ground was originally called the Athletic Ground, but, in 1988, a deal was struck with McCain Foods and it has been known as the McCain Stadium ever since. Due to this takeover, fans of the Seasiders have affectionately adopted the nickname "The Theatre of Chips" for their ground. The capacity is 6, 408.

The main stand runs alongside the pitch and is all-seater. It costs £14 for adults, £10 for concessions and £7 for under-16s. The Shed runs alongside the other touchline, consisting of covered terracing. It is the most popular part of the ground and is usually where the singers congregate. The East and West Stands are behind each goal. The East is all-seater whilst the West is set aside for away fans. These parts of the ground cost £2 less than the Main Stand to enter.
