Some breeds pant more than others and if older, through hard work just getting around will be worn out. Dogs pant as we sweat. So this could be a cause

It could be just that it's getting hotter but you may want to have your Springer checked out if it's enough to ask the question as it can also indicate a heart problem. :-(
