Do You Celebrate Your Birthday, Or Is It Just Another Day?

Just another day (work). I celebrate it if the people around me choose to celebrate it.

Well, my birthday is a day I feel grateful to my parents as because of them Im here today and whatever Im...... But to be honest I don't feel like celebrating the day only for the fact that I believe that celebrations is a part of your life when you are happy with what you got in your life, which I am but there is something very important that's missing so I am never in a mood to celebrate anything..... Since recently I have enclosed myself from the rest of the world not allowing anyone to contact me accept my family and very few close people.... Im still unreachable and undetected to many people, as they don't know anything about my whereabouts...... That's funny.. I had my 26th Birthday on 27th of this month and I spent the whole day sleeping as I didn't have any plans to implement and no one to hangout with.... I know now that its sad but that all I have in my disposal...... I had to take pills to sleep as I could not put my mind at rest accepting that it is my birthday and I don't have anything to do......

Though Im very good at celebrating my solitude and spending time with myself all alone but on a day like this, that is not an option and so I chose to disconnect myself from the world and sleep......

Might sound funny but hey!! That's just me.....

I celebrate my birthday. Jehovas witnesses dont celebrate birthdays or christmas or other things like that.

No..I don't ..I feel embarrassed being the center of attention.

I do celebrate my Birthday.  It's not a big huge deal, but I do whatever I want, and don't cook dinner, or clean anything.  It's in August, so I lie in the sun as much of the day as I can.  Being a Leo, I inspect myself in the mirror, and decide on some new colors to add to my hair, or see what wrinkles need extra help, or (keep this to yourselves), tell myself I still look pretty hot for an old woman.  Then my husband, who hasn't mentioned it all day, will come home with flowers, a card that makes me cry, and this last birthday, my current favorite snack: 5 boxes of Dreyer's coconut sorbet bars.  My children all call and sing to me, as does my father in law, and my little granddaughter (the 2 1/2 yr. Old one ) will draw a picture for me.  This time, she used her safety scissors and cut out a moon, a sun, and stars and pasted them on construction paper along with outlines of her hands and feet.  She had help with her mommy on that one, I suspect.  Aren't Birthdays special; they are the one day of the year it is completely legal  to do whatever you want, short of getting arrested.
