What Do Gerbils Eat?

Gerbils can eat vegetables and fruits such as grapes, apples, cucumbers,lettuce, and they love raisins but these things should only be served in small ammounts daily or weekly. What people usually feed there gerbils and what gerbils eat is mixed food brands I buy Fiesta for my gerbil and they love it but it does come with alot of sunflower seeds in it so if you dont want to take the time to pick the sunflower seeds out, the reason you should pick them  out is because they love them so much and if they eat to much of them they can become fat also they make a great treat and are good for hand training later on,anyways another brand I would recommend that comes in a bag that doesnt have any sunflower seeds in it is called ecotrition. Gerbils like to eat lots of things. They like fruits: Grapes, apples, cherries, strawberries, and bananas. Vegetables: Carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, celery, peas, swede, cauliflower, kale, sprouts, broccoli, spinach, and cucumber. Seeds and grains are also liked by gerbils - sunflower, pumpkin, and lots of other seeds and grain cereal. Too much green food can cause diarrhoea, and can make the gerbils ill. Fruits and vegetables should be only given a few times a week as they are often only used as treats. Another food liked by gerbils are the food bought in the pet shop, as they are full of nutritious goodies. Other foods that gerbils like include: Raisins, oats, apple sauce, peanut butter, unsalted peanuts, diarrhoea, and parsley. Do not feed your gerbil: Citrus fruits -oranges and limes, chocolate and potatoes.
