Regarding Recovery For Complex Pelvic Reconstruction And Hysterectomy, How Long Is The Normal Recovery And Weight Restriction Time?

I am scheduled for a hysterectomy and a complex pelvic reconstruction for prolapse. My lifestyle involves heavy, frequent lifting both at home and at work (I have a small farm and work as a nursing assistant in a long term care facility that requires me to continually push, pull and lift half my body weight). My doctor says my weight restrictions after surgery will be 5 lbs. For 8 weeks and 20 lbs. For 12 weeks after that. Would this be because of my occupation or because of how complex the surgery is?

Hysterectomy and and prolapse surgeries are not complicated. Recovery time depends upon type of surgery. Laparoscopic surgery has shot recovery time than abdominal surgery. Anyhow, it can take 6 months for complete recovery.
