ADHD is quite common, and it is understandable that not everybody wants to treat their children with drugs. One reason why you may not want to treat you child with drugs for this condition is the fact that they have been linked to suicidal behaviour. Luckily there are other alternatives including a good diet which may help. It is thought that food dyes contribute towards making the symptoms of ADHD worse, and studies have shown that children, who didn't eat foods with food dyes in them, were a lot better behaved than children who did. An additive free diet is also important and can help to improve the child's behaviour. Sugar and fruit drinks should be avoided as much as possible as they can worsen the symptoms quite a lot.

If you want to try an herbal remedy for the condition there is a great one called 'Attend' which usually works. Your doctor may be able to recommend other alternatives and health food shops should be able to give you some information on what usually works best.
