Why Can't I Stop Smoking?

Answer Question

Smoking has become a big problem for many people. These people usually realize that this activity is hurting their health and thus, set their mind to quit. Unfortunately, a large portion of the people that take this first step towards quitting find that it is extremely difficult and end up returning back to smoking. There are a variety of factors that cause this addiction. One is the nicotine present in cigarettes. This drug has been shown to be able to affect people's mood. It can cause a person to receive a boost to the brain when in a depressed state or it can also have the opposite effect of slowing down brain activity when in a stressed state. These results are not conclusive, but it does begin to paint a picture of why many people become addicted. Another aspect of why people continue to smoke is a social one. Smokers tend to seek out smoking buddies, especially in the work place. This has an effect of not wanting to become disassociated from your former smoking buddies by quitting. Regardless of the causes for the addiction, experts agree that smoking will eventually cause extremely serious health problems over time. They recommend to quit as soon as possible by any means necessary. Some people have found success in using the same methodology as the social side of smoking. They feel that instead of finding smoking buddies, maybe they can find quitting buddies.

Smoking is highly addictive. It contains a drug called nicotine which makes you become addicted to it.once you put nicotine into your body, it  feels like it needs more and more of it. In order to stop smoking, you could try using nicotine patches, but to be honest they rarely work. So I recommend sheer perseverance. Wean yourself off them. Every day, try to smoke less then the day before. This should help you quit.

You can STOP, it is as simple as QUIT IT! I smoked 20 years, I quit in Nov. 11th of 2008, cappuccino flavored lozenges worked for me, I started with patches, worked down to stage two, then went to lozenges. Not a whole 4 mg lozenge break off just enough to take cravings away! Just remember, no matter what, don't take a single puff, while quiting, YOU CAN DO IT!

When you want to stop you will.
If you dont stop, sorry I dont know why you dont want to stop! It will kill you.
You dont run out in front of a bus because you know it will kill you.
You know smoking will kill you so why do you smoke?
