What Football Team Are The Seagulls?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Seagulls is the nickname of the Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club, a football team that plays its home matches at Withdean Stadium, Brighton in Sussex in the southeast of England. The group was established in 1901, and have played in the Second, Third and Fourth Divisions of the English Football Association (FA) league.

They have had one of the most roller-coaster rides in English soccer history, with a history of promotions up to the Second Division and relegations that ran right down to the Fourth Division. They made it to the First Division (now known as the English Premier League) in 1979 and stayed there for four years, once drawing 2-2 with Manchester United in a famous match (which United eventually won 4-0 on penalties) at Wembley. The official colour of their kit is blue and white stripes. Musician and DJ Norman Cook, also known as Fat Boy Slim, owns a minority stake in the club, which is also sponsored by his record label Skint Records. The club's chairman is Dick Knight and Dean Wilkins is the Seagulls' current manager and coach.
