Who Owns Saab?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Since the year 1998, BAE Systems, an aerospace company which is based in the United Kingdom, has held the largest number of shares in Saab AB. Its predecessor, British Aerospace, acquired a stake of approximately 35 per cent from Investor AB.

In the month of January in the year 2005, BAE reduced the number of shares it holds in the company to approximately twenty per cent. It views this as a long-term interest. Investor AB also holds approximately twenty per cent of the shares in the company.

The full name of Saab AB is Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (or Swedish Aeroplane Limited). The company manufactures defence equipment and aviation. It was founded in the city of Stockholm (the capital of Sweden) in the year 1937. Saab launched its first car (Saab 92001) on June 10, 1947.
