      It depends on how it is used. Such as construction the word is used like. Bob is going to grade the yard out. In this case it means to level, back fill, and smoth the area out. If its was used like......... Do you know what grade you got in your English studies yet. It means how well you have done in a certain area using a system already set up like A B C D or F or 1-5 A or 1 being the besst and F or % being the worst
