    This sounds like a case of separation anxiety! Even if it appears to be a little premature upon going to bed at night.
    The only other thing may be he fears that you may leave him sooner or maybe he fears the dark, like an animal whom fears a thunderstorm.

      To ease your dog's anxiety, I suggest leaving one of your tv's open or play a talk show cd. When your dog hears voices, he feels as if people are there, and feels more comfortable. My yorkie stays home for part of the day during the week while I'm at work and he feels more comfortable at home. Also, leaving a light on is a bit more comfortable.
