Vergil is fairly easy to beat. Use Dante's Agni and Rudra to hit Vergil with Dante's jet stream while he's recovering and then attack him with a combo from any weapon of your choice. There's a walk through available for this game on gamefaqs. You'll find some cheat codes for costumes and other locked items over here as well.
