Start all relationships with truths. He may be elated that you think enough of him to be straight forward. Hinting takes time, undue later explanations, and sometimes reasons after reasons requiring things that may be slightly lacking the truth.

Guys are not good at taking hints. They generally need the more direct approach. The best thing is to lovingly and truthfully tell him what is on your mind. You should probably preface your talk with a deceleration of your love and ask for his understanding about what you are about to tell him. He may be more in tune with you than you think.
