Though F. Scott Fitzgerald was not very famous as a screen writer, he worked for movies all the same. He found that the work in the movie industry was degrading and he could do something to upgrade it. It can also take care of his financial needs also and which is why he spent almost five years in the movie industry. He worked for Metro Goldwyn Mayer. His works with MGM also include some un-filmed work that he did on Gone with the Wind.

During these years he also got estranged relationship with his wife Zelda and they lived separately; she in some mental institutions and he in Hollywood with a movie columnist named Sheilah Graham. In his work Mr Fitzgerald even mocked himself with the help of a character named Pat Hobby, the series of which lasted for 17 episodes.
