Mine is doing the same thing. I have a nokia E61i and it's acting up. I was told that anything larger than 2g's won't work in a nokia but I don't believe it. My memory card also freezes my older model computer, when it tries to read it.
1. Your computer will not freeze if you have your memory card in your phone, and hook the phone up the to the computer.
2. You can try to delete the files off the memory card either by hooking the phone an the computer up. Or, if your computer doesnt freeze, you can try to put the memory card into the computer by using the adapter it came with.
