What Are The Symptoms Going To Be Of My Min.schnauzer Having Mini Strokes?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Dogs do not typically have strokes in the same way people do.  Dogs can have vascular events that can lead to neurological signs.  Other causes of neurological disease include infectious, toxins, cancers, and metabolic disease (like hypoglycemia, liver failure among others).
Neurological signs can include trouble walking, tremoring, altered mentation, and seizure-like behavior.
If you have any concerns that your dog is acting abnormal or having "mini-strokes" you need to have your dog examined by a veterinarian.  Initial testing will include bloodwork to screen for metabolic causes, and may include x-rays to view the spine and/or internal organs.
