What Is Intelligent Design?

Answer Question

The Intelligent Design movement is an initiative underway in America to call into question the theory of evolution. Its proponents argue that the complexity of biological function seen in nature is such that it could not possibly have evolved through random mutation on any reasonable timescale.

The Intelligent Design movement was started and is sustained by evangelical Christians whose faith causes them to reject the theory evolution and who subscribe instead to the doctrine of creationism : the belief that the Earth and the creatures who live on it were created by God a few thousand years ago. Previous attempts to teach creationism in America's schools were blocked by the U.S. Supreme Court, which argued that it violated the constitutionally-mandated separation between church and state.

Intelligent Design can be seen as a response to this Supreme Court decision. Its advocates are careful to avoid explicit mention of religious doctrine, and cloak their arguments in the patina of science. Their goal is to gain acceptance of the Intelligent Design philosophy as a credible scientific approach and to have it inserted into America's school system. In this, they have had some success. Some schools in America now do teach Intelligent Design alongside traditional evolution theory and President George W. Bush expressed the view that both side of 'debate' should be given a fair airing.

Intelligent Design (ID) is a scientific type of argument stating that life on Earth is so complex that it must have had an intelligent designer. This argument has evolved from the creationism argument, and it is gaining strength by masquerading as a science.
It is really a belief structure and not science because there is no body of research to support its claims – and it makes no testable predictions. To get around legal restrictions on teaching religious dogma, proponents of ID often say that they don't know what this designer was; it could have been an alien, or a god.
Of course if it were an alien, then the obvious question a sceptic might ask is, 'Where and how did the alien originate?' If the supporters really mean God, which is what some of them admit, then ID is basically creationism with a few new ideas.
Therefore ID and creationism are basically the same. One has to suspect that what supporters are really are really trying to say is, 'It was God'.

I do belive that there must an intelligent designer of this universe because in its absence this universe could be made by itself but it could never be so systematic and beautifull.  We can see that the world and also the entire universe is supportive not just to life but also the earth. Stars have provided us with many heavy metals and elements essential for life.  Rainfall is like our servant providing us soft water.  If there is no Creator then there would be no life at least.and you cant prove God by science.
