What Is A Deed?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

In most common cases a deed is a legal document which signifies the legal ownership of property or a piece of land. Deeds also used for commissions, patents and can also be used in academic degrees and diplomas.

When you transfer a property, for instance from a seller to a buyer, the deeds will need to be changed. This is otherwise known as conveyancing. This process can be executed by a licensed conveyancer or by a solicitor. It can also be transferred by an individual as well. It's important when transferring your property that all the necessary rights are transferred properly as sometimes restrictions apply.
