    Tito is the name of a Yugoslavian politician. He was the president of communist Yugoslavia from 1953 to 1980. He led the struggle against the Nazi occupation of Yugoslavia during the World War II. Though he was a communist he wanted independence for Yugoslavia from USSR which he managed to achieve in 1948. His full name was Josip Broz Tito and was a great statesman as well a dictator.

    He was born in Kumrovec in Croatia as the seventh child of his parents. Tito was his code name which he adopted after becoming the member of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia which was banned at the time of his joining. He was the first President of independent Yugoslavia. He was the President of Yugoslavia when it became one of the founder members of the Non-Aligned Movement along with India and Egypt. He managed to maintain unity in the nation even while suppressing the nationalistic tendencies in the citizens.
