There are a lot of possibility. Bleeding can be a sign of internal problems.Cats with chlamydia, a bacterial infection that starts in their upper respiratory tract, will often have swollen and bloody gums. Leukemia, kidney disease, and cancer can also cause the gums to bleed. So can an immune system disorder called thrombocytopenia, which damages the cell-like structures in the blood that aid in clotting.

This happen to my cat and the vet said it was probably a busted blood vein in her head. So sorry I know how it feels.
