What Is An Each Way Bet?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

An each way bet is used in horse racing. It is a bet which allows you to say whether you think a horse will place. Place basically means that the horse will come either first, second or third. It really depends upon how many horses are in a race. If there are one to four horses then you can only come first in the race and there is no option to have an each way bet. If there are five to eight horses then the horse can come first and second and you can have an each way bet. For nine horses up to fifteen horses, the horse can come first, second or third and for sixteen horses and above the horse can come first, second, third or fourth for you to get money back.

So the only time you cannot have an each way bet on horse racing is if there are less than five horses in the race.
